public space
The development is set to deliver both improved quality and a net increase in useable public space.

St Andrews Gardens
Featuring improved river walk way, formal terraced lawns and children's play area on the upper garden.

Town Square
The Plaza would provide a valuable new public space within the heritage quarter providing an area that could be used flexibly, for instance at different times it could accommodate market stalls; an ice rink or outdoor performances etc.

Church Gardens
The Church Gardens will be defined by hedgerows with trees softening the building edges and relating them to the grounds whilst providing pleasant ‘green routes’.

transport

Improvements to Crocked Lane will calm traffic and improve views and access to the river.

Dedicated bus lane will be provided through Crooked Lane in conjunction with further traffic calming.
Lighting concept

A series of east-west links connect the development. Lighting can be used to express these links, especially given the numerous interesting alleys that lead off from the High-Street. The lighting would take a variety of forms for instance, lights embedded in walls/floors, lit bollards or lighting to seating etc.
